How do you define documentary photography? Essentially it involves nothing more than recording your surroundings and the life that goes on within them. Used in series as stories or projects, photographs can be used to inform and make more accessible highly complex situations. Some photographs, however, are more powerful standing alone or may serve simply to provide a brief insight into life or provoke a momentary smile in a busy day.
