Nutmeg Communications Ltd. specialises in employee engagement and corporate social responsibility. Nutmeg helps organisations to develop engagement strategies and improve the quality and range of their communication tools.
I set up Nutmeg with my business partner, Morag Livingstone, in 2006. I met Morag on a Masters degree course in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography in 2005. We had both previously worked in the City of London and therefore understood what a challenging environment it is for both companies and employees. We recognised that many employees were underperforming and that companies were increasingly losing high performers who had become disenchanted with their working environments.
Initially we focused on helping companies to demonstrate their commitment to CSR using documentary-based visual media. . We won a Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award in that year for our business concept. Since then, Nutmeg has developed a wider portfolio of services, all centred around improving employee morale and therefore motivation and productivity by:
- building and re-inforcing core values
- developing positive workplace cultures
- stimulating creative thinking
- increasing employee motivation; and
- encouraging responsible approaches to business.
Nutmeg's work falls within three main areas: communications, employee engagement and media production. Our services include:

Nutmeg clients range from multinationals to SMEs, and include public and private companies, and third sector organisations. Our media practice is international - we have a worldwide network of photographers and videographers.
